Hoodoo Radio are proud to announce a new sponsorship award from Stansted Airport Community Fund.
The Stansted Airport Community Fund is a grant-making initiative established to support local projects and organisations within a 10-mile radius of London Stansted Airport. Funded by passenger charges and managed independently, the fund aims to give back to the surrounding community by supporting schemes that enhance the environment, improve community life, and promote education and well-being. It typically focuses on grassroots organisations, schools, and charities, helping to deliver meaningful, lasting benefits to local people.

Followers of our station will be aware of our 'Box that Rocks' project, started in Jan 2025 we have restored and converted a horsebox into a mobile broadcasting unit, DJ Booth and events trailer, which we are now busy taking to events. The award from Stansted Airport Community Fund will now mean we can proceed with the next stage of the project, making the Box that Rocks fully solar powered and self sufficient, taking the party literally anywhere with no need for power sources, trailing leads or noisy generators.
Thanks to the Stansted Airport Community Fund, Hoodoo Radio will be fitting out the Box that Rocks with a complete solar power system over the coming weeks. This will comprise a roof mounted solar panel, solar charger inverter and LiFEPo battery bank. Making the trailer completely off-grid and self sufficient, capable of powering the party from dawn until long after dusk! Coupled with battery speakers, Hoodoo Radio can keep the music flowing wherever the sun shines.
